Why Still Running ?

Stillrunning.in is personal though.

A small event to remember in 2025. My first mini-marathon

I intend to document my experiences as a beginner runner, who’s about to turn 41 soon and who finds running a good stress release. And if there is something of benefit that the readers can take from or associate with, on this site, I would be very happy.

Started in mid-2025 with small walks around Cubbon park, gradually got it up to a couple of kilometers, then to 5kms, then 10kms. And now I have done three 21km runs so far with a few more days to go for 2025 to come to a close. (One of those was in a mini-marathon in Vizag, the picture on the right, my first external run). Planning ahead for a 42km run in a few more months if my body and willpower permits.

Three things that I hope can help me keep running are:

  1. Good genes (can’t thank my parents and their parents and their parents…..enough !) and a decent physique. 180cms, 75kgs, not complaining.
  2. Relatively decent calorie burns everyday thanks to my travelling sales job that keeps me walking, climbing, moving, etc. I easily do 6000+ steps a day as is even without runs.
  3. An okish control when it comes to diet – can’t avoid sugar even if my life depended on it, but fried items somehow do not entice me.

That’s what I have about me and this site for now.

I hope to keep things exactly as is and post something consistently.

Wishing you all good luck in your “journey”. And do keep moving ahead !
